What it teaches

What An-Naba teaches

Signs all around us

Allah made the earth a resting place, the mountains like pegs, and us in pairs (verses 6 to 8).

Sleep, night and day

Sleep is for rest, the night covers us and the day is for work (verses 9 to 11).

Rain and plants

Allah sends rain from the clouds to grow grain, plants and gardens (verses 14 to 16).

A reward for the good

Those who are mindful of Allah will have a generous reward from their Lord (verses 31 to 36).

Tips for parents

Learning An-Naba with your child

Split it into parts

Forty verses is a lot at once. Try verses 1–16, then 17–30, then 31–40.

Go on a signs walk

After verses 6–16, look together for the mountains, clouds, plants and the night sky Allah mentions.

A few verses a day

Three to five new verses a day, plus the ones from yesterday, is plenty.
