Surah Al-Fatiha
The Opener: 7 verses in Arabic with transliteration and meaning.
An-Nas, “Mankind”, is the last surah of the Quran. We seek refuge in Allah, the Lord, King and God of mankind, from the whisperer who whispers into people's hearts, from among jinn and people. Six short verses.
قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ ٱلنَّاسِ
qul aʿūdhu birabbi l-nāsi
Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind,
مَلِكِ ٱلنَّاسِ
maliki l-nāsi
The Sovereign of mankind,
إِلَـٰهِ ٱلنَّاسِ
ilāhi l-nāsi
The God of mankind,
مِن شَرِّ ٱلْوَسْوَاسِ ٱلْخَنَّاسِ
min sharri l-waswāsi l-khanāsi
From the evil of the retreating whisperer -
ٱلَّذِى يُوَسْوِسُ فِى صُدُورِ ٱلنَّاسِ
alladhī yuwaswisu fī ṣudūri l-nāsi
Who whispers [evil] into the breasts of mankind -
مِنَ ٱلْجِنَّةِ وَٱلنَّاسِ
mina l-jinati wal-nāsi
From among the jinn and mankind."

Allah is the Lord, the King and the God of all people (verses 1 to 3).
We ask Allah to protect us from the whisperer who puts bad ideas into hearts (verses 4 and 5).
Bad whispers can come from jinn and from people; Allah protects us from both (verse 6).
Every verse ends in “-nas”. Children love the rhythm; let them say the endings with you.
Learn An-Nas together with Al-Falaq; both begin with “Say, I seek refuge”.
Teach your child that when a bad idea comes, we can ask Allah for protection.
In Quran for Kids, every verse of An-Nas is split into words your child can tap, hear and understand.
