Surah Al-Fatiha
The Opener: 7 verses in Arabic with transliteration and meaning.
Al-Ma'un, “Small kindnesses”, shows that faith is seen in how we treat others: caring for orphans, feeding the poor, praying sincerely and not holding back even small help.
ara-ayta alladhī yukadhibu bil-dīni
Have you seen the one who denies the Recompense?
fadhālika alladhī yaduʿʿu l-yatīma
For that is the one who drives away the orphan
walā yaḥuḍḍu ʿalā ṭaʿāmi l-mis'kīni
And does not encourage the feeding of the poor.
fawaylun lil'muṣallīna
So woe to those who pray
alladhīna hum ʿan ṣalātihim sāhūna
[But] who are heedless of their prayer -
alladhīna hum yurāūna
Those who make show [of their deeds]
wayamnaʿūna l-māʿūna
And withhold [simple] assistance.

Prayer is for Allah, not for showing off (verses 4 to 6).
Even small help matters; don't hold it back (verse 7).
After learning the surah, do one small kindness together, like sharing food with a neighbour.
