Surah Al-Fatiha
The Opener: 7 verses in Arabic with transliteration and meaning.
Al-Ikhlas, “The Sincerity”, is one of the shortest surahs of the Quran. In four verses it tells us who Allah is: One, the Eternal Refuge, and no one is like Him. That makes it one of the first surahs many children learn. Here it is as it appears in Quran for Kids.
قُلْ هُوَ ٱللَّهُ أَحَدٌ
qul huwa l-lahu aḥadun
Say, "He is Allāh, [who is] One,
ٱللَّهُ ٱلصَّمَدُ
al-lahu l-ṣamadu
Allāh, the Eternal Refuge.
لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ
lam yalid walam yūlad
He neither begets nor is born,
وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُۥ كُفُوًا أَحَدٌۢ
walam yakun lahu kufuwan aḥadun
Nor is there to Him any equivalent."

There is only one God, Allah (verse 1).
Allah is the Eternal Refuge: everything and everyone depends on Him (verse 2).
Allah has no children and no parents (verse 3).
Nothing and no one is equal to Him (verse 4).
Four short verses: learn one a day and recite the whole surah together at the end of the week.
Ask your child: what does it mean that Allah is One? Short, simple answers are enough.
Let your child listen to each verse and repeat it back, a little at a time.
Recite it together at bedtime or after prayer, so it becomes familiar.
In Quran for Kids, every verse of Al-Ikhlas is split into words your child can tap, hear and understand.
