Allahu Akbar
Allah is the Greatest.
-
Subhanaka
We say it standing, at the start of the prayer.
سُبْحَانَكَ اللّٰهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ، وَتَبَارَكَ اسْمُكَ، وَتَعَالَى جَدُّكَ، وَلَا إِلٰهَ غَيْرُكَ
Subhanaka Allahumma wa bihamdika, wa tabarakasmuka, wa ta'ala jadduka, wa la ilaha ghairuk.
Glory be to You, O Allah, and all praise. Blessed is Your name, high is Your majesty, and there is no god but You.
-

A'udhu billahi minash-shaytanir-rajim. Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Rahim.
I seek refuge in Allah from Satan, the outcast. In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

At-Tahiyyat
We say it while sitting.
At-tahiyyatu lillahi was-salawatu wat-tayyibat. As-salamu 'alayka ayyuhan-nabiyyu wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh. As-salamu 'alayna wa 'ala 'ibadillahis-salihin. Ash-hadu an la ilaha illallah, wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadan 'abduhu wa rasuluh.
All greetings, prayers and good words are for Allah. Peace be upon you, O Prophet, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. Peace be upon us and upon the righteous servants of Allah. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and messenger.
-
Salawat
In the last sitting we ask Allah to bless Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him.
O Allah, send Your mercy on Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, as You sent it on Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim; You are Praiseworthy and Glorious. O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, as You blessed Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim; You are Praiseworthy and Glorious.
-
Rabbana Atina
Then we ask Allah for good in this world and the next.
رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ
Rabbana atina fid-dunya hasanatan wa fil-akhirati hasanatan wa qina 'adhaban-nar.
Our Lord, give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.
-

Arabic, transliteration and meaning as they appear in the Learn to Pray lessons of the Quran for Kids app, which follow a simple form most madhhabs share. Where details differ, follow your family's way.
Learning it with your child
One part at a time
Start with the short ones, such as Allahu Akbar and the ruku and sujud tasbih, then add a longer dua each week.
Pray side by side
Let your child pray next to you and say the words quietly along with you.
Explain the meaning
Read the meaning together; children remember words better when they know what they are saying.
Learn it with Learn to Pray
In Quran for Kids, Learn to Pray shows the words of the prayer in Arabic with transliteration and meaning, and ends with a guided prayer your child can pray along with.
- Six short, illustrated lessons
